Why Have I Chosen These Trimmers?

First reason I have picked the trimmers listed on this page is of course the ability to trim with a comb guard a beard approx. 10 mm long (obvious, I know).

The second reason is this: I have bought and tested each of them on my medium coarse beard.

This way I can say something meaningful about each model.

Sure, there are so many other trimmers that work well for stubble and short beards.

As time goes by I will buy and test more models, so you can check this list in the future.

Just in case you will be looking for a new trimmer.

What Should You Focus On When Choosing A Trimmer For Stubble And Short Beard?

Precise length settings

In order to trim a short beard we need precise length settings.

Personally I am ok with 1 mm increments.

Many trimmers let you set the trimming length by 0,5 mm increments. In my opinion such settings are accurate enough

Nevertheless many trimmers allow you to set preferred cutting length by 0,5 mm.

You’ll find models offering even 0,1 mm precision, which I consider unnecessary.

You will hardly recognize the difference between a beard trimmed to 0,5 mm and for example 0,7 mm.

So generally stubble and short beard require precise length settings. Many trimmers come with 0,5 mm precision which should be totally fine for most of us.
