My Recommended Hybrid Trimmers / Shavers
Here I have listed hybrid trimmers that allow you to shave your beard and body as well as trim, shape stubble and short beard. Most of these shavers can be used dry and wet.

The list contains only models I have bought and used myself.

Which Trimmers Have I Tested?

Why Have I Chosen These Trimmers?
First reason I have picked the trimmers listed on this page is of course the ability to shave and trim beard and body hair (obvious, I know).
The second reason is this: I have bought and tested each of them.
This way I can say something meaningful about each model.
Sure, there are so many other hybrid trimmers that work well for short and longer beards.
As time goes by I will buy and test more shavers, so you can check this list in the future.
Just in case you will be looking for a new hybrid trimmer.
Do Hybrid Trimmers Shave As Close To Skin As Razor Shavers?
No.
All I can say is that on my medium coarse beard I get the best results with all kinds of razors where the cutting blade touches skin directly.
Then come most full size electric shavers, like Braun Series 8 Electric Shaver or Philips Norelco Shaver Series 9000.
Next are hybrid trimmers / shavers.
Finally some trimmers or clippers with zero-gapped blades.
Most Popular Hybrid Trimmers
Philips OneBlade
Philips OneBlade shavers are most heavily advertised. Thus they are very popular and to be honest quite highly rated.
I have to admit that with a medium thick beard I get a pretty nice shave.
The most common weak points mentioned by users regarding Philips OneBlade trimmers are first - the blade wears out pretty quickly and is quite expensive.
Secondly in some cases the trimmer performs poorly on a given type of beard.
Braun Series XT
Hybrid trimmers from the Braun Series XT are another popular player in this category.
They come with quite good blades that should last about 6 months.
The blade could be lubricated.
In my case Braun XT trimmers allow me to get a good shave, quite similar to what I get with Philips OneBlades.
Ok, maybe OneBlades gives a bit smoother shave, but the difference is almost unrecognizable.
Remington OmniBlade
What I like about Remington OmniBlade hybrid shavers is that their blade will last even 5 years.
The blades require regular lubrication.
The quality of the shave is really good.
On my medium coarse beard the shave is not as smooth as what I get with Philips OneBlades, but the difference is not significant.
Rowenta Forever Sharp
Rowenta Forever Sharp hybrid trimmers are not as popular as the three brands mentioned above, but I really enjoyed using them.
The shave on my medium thick beard is quite similar to what I get with Remington OmniBlades, so not as smooth as Philips OneBlades.
On the other hand the blade will last several years.
The blades require regular oiling.
