Below I give my honest review of the Remington MB4050 beard trimmer. I say only my own opinions, my review is not sponsored (I have bought the trimmer for my own money).

I hope the information below will help you decide if this trimmer is a good option for you or not.

The Remington MB4050 beard trimmer set is packed with all kinds of accessories that could be needed for a full beard trim at home.

I admit right away I did not use most of them, I have focused on the trimmer and the guards.

Yes, I have tested the beard brush, but I did not touch the barber cape, towel, scissors (which looks and feel quite good) or the comb.

Remington MB4050 | The Ergonomics

Ergonomically curved handle. Sits nicely in the palm

What I definitely like about the Remington MB4050 beard trimmer is its shape.

Quite significantly curved compared to many popular beard trimmers on the market.

On/off switch and the charging indicator

I find working with the trimmer quite comfortable.

I definitely like the fact that the cutting edge of the blade is well exposed and accessible from many angles.

The back side of the handle

The noise and vibration levels are not good, but you’ll find plenty of beard trimmers on the market that work more quietly and with less shake.

The handle is made primarily from the plastic

If you’re looking for a fully waterproof unit, unfortunately the unit itself in Remington MB4050 should not be immersed in the water, but all guards and the detachable blades can be rinsed under the tap.

The Blades

Stainless steel blades

Simple ones.

Stainless steel.

Self-sharpening.

Remington MB4050 - the simple blades are mounted in the plastic base

Two polished and moulded pieces of metal mounted in a plastic base/head.

I definitely like the fact that the cutting edge of the blade is well exposed and accessible from many angles.

The blades release button

Yes, and you need to remember to oil the blades on a regular basis.

Remington MB4050 is equipped also with a simple narrow pop-up trimmer.

Press the button, release the blades
The moving blade is a bit yellowish in color - it's because it is covered with titanium

It is meant to help with styling details.

Please be careful though!

On the back side you'll find a simple narrow detail trimmer

When you pop this trimmer out - both blades are moving! Meaning the small trimmer but also the main blade!

The trimmer will pop out
Be careful! When detail trimmer is out - both blades are working! The main blades and the little detail trimmer!

Remington MB4050 | The Length Settings

Adjustable comb for stubble (up to 5 mm)
You actually can't hear the clicks, so it is not so obvious you have set your preferred length

The Remington MB4050 is one of few models on the market that is equipped with an adjusting guard that allows you to trim even longer beard.

This adjustable comb helps you set the length in the following range: 1,5-18 mm
Best for short beard

One of the combs allows you to set the cutting length up to 35 mm.

Honestly trimming with a guard a beard that is longer than 20 mm is getting tricky.

The longets comb in Remington MB4050 lets you set the lengths from 20 to 35 mm
The XL comb for longer beard

Hears in a longer beard tend to get curly and a bit tangled.

As a result not all hairs get in the comb and you need to do more passes in order to get an even cut.

The 1,5 - 18 mm guard is working fine.

The stubble guard (1-5 mm) - you have to get used to the simple plastic dial wheel.

It works but you have the feeling you are not 100% sure exactly what length you have set.

Remington MB4050 | Accessories

The beard brush is very basic - 100% nylon bristle
Wooden handle
The brush is really hard, so be careful, do not press to much to your face
The stencil
The travel pouch is way too small... you'll be able to stash in only the trimmer
A small black towel with Remington branding
You also get a simple cape, so most of the hairs will not mess up your bathroom's floor
The scissors... not bad...
